food & drink in Yelapa
August 18th, 2008
Here’s the scoop on dining out in Yelapa.
- First of all, bring cash for restaurants. Tres Amigos (more often known as the restaurant at the Hotel Lagunita) is the only place that accepts credit cards.
- Check out “A Food-Lover’s Stroll Through Yelapa” for a quick intro to the restaurant options.
- Yelapa’s pie ladies are famous, for good reason. Try some pie!
- Browse around the maps pages on Yelapa.info for more detailed information about some of the restaurants on the beach, in the village, and in between.
- On a hot afternoon, sitting in the shade and sipping a limonada (limeade, sometimes made with carbonated water) is highly recommended.
- Pacifico is the beer of choice in Yelapa, though others are available.
- Fear not, vegetarians: in all the restaurants we’ve been to in Yelapa, the beans are cooked with vegetable oil, not lard.
