Our Advice on Accommodations

Pick a place early.

February is peak season, and the better places will go quickly--some were already booked for February 2010 when we first started planning the event, in summer 2008!

Know your preferred location.

To minimize walking, stay on the south / village side of the river, closer to the beach than the center of the village, and aim for a place close to the level of the main path rather than up on the hillside. Remember, there are no elevators in Yelapa--it's all stairs, and some of them are more even than others. If your group includes small children or anyone with limited mobility, let us know and we can suggest places that would be most comfortable for you.

To get an idea of what's available, review all the places on the south side of the river under the "beach area" and "upriver" categories of the Yelapa.info accommodations page or download the latest updated version of our accommodations spreadsheet.

For larger, more secluded accommodations tucked into the jungle, with more wildlife, look for places upriver.

For lovely ocean views and a romantic setting, stay on the Point.

Coordinate with friends and family.

If you know other people who'll be attending, consider coordinating with them, either by sharing a larger place or staying near each other in the same group of rentals or "compound".

Coordinate with us.

We have reserved a few of the nicer places in town. One of them might be perfect for you, so check with us and we might be able to offer you some options that won't be available through the proprietors.

NEW! We have also created a spreadsheet (based on the data from all listings on yelapa.info) that will allow you to sort rental listings by number of bedrooms, number of double or single beds, nightly rate, or location. Download it here (by clicking "File >> Download as >>") or please contact us if you'd like us to email you a copy.
