Weekend Schedule - updated and slightly less tentative

Thursday, February 25, 2010:

We hope everyone will arrive in Yelapa by Thursday evening. (If you are spending more time in Yelapa, we will be in town from Monday the 22nd of February until Monday March 1st.) Once you've arrived and are comfortably settled in and well fed, if you're up for it, we'd love to say hello over a beverage or two.

We are soliciting volunteers to hold informal "open house"-style reunions for various groups of family and friends that night for anyone who feels like mingling, and we'll also have "office hours" at a central meeting place for anyone to drop by. If you'd like to coordinate one of those gatherings, let us know.

Friday, February 26, 2010:

In the morning, for those who expressed interest, there will be an excursion by boat to Los Arcos, a marine preserve between Yelapa and Puerto Vallarta (on your water taxi to Yelapa, look for the big rocks you'll pass just outside of Puerto Vallarta--that's Los Arcos). Here's the full scoop on the snorkeling excursion: We will arrange for a few small boats to take whoever wants to go over to Los Arcos. We'll spend some time there, snorkeling or watching the fish from inside the boat. After Los Arcos, we will proceed to Mahajuitas, a gorgeous beach slightly north of Yelapa with no river flowing out and thus clearer water for snorkeling. Light snacks will be served on the boat. The entire excursion will probably take about 3.5 hours, leaving the pier at around 10 in the morning and coming back by around 1:30 in the afternoon. If you signed up for the boat tour and don't want to go, or vice versa, please let us know ASAP so we can make sure to have enough boats for everyone.

If you decided not to go on the boat excursion, there are plenty of other things to do in Yelapa, or just enjoy the peaceful pace of this sleepy little car-free town.

In the afternoon, just have lunch and relax.

In the evening, probably around 6:00 p.m., anyone who wants to join us can gather for a brief lighting of shabbat candles, then we'll be hosting a festive informal dinner for everyone starting at 6:30 p.m..

Saturday, February 27, 2010:

Relax or play to your hearts' content all morning through early afternoon.

At a little before 3 p.m., we'll gather in the garden of Los Naranjos retreat center for the wedding ceremony, mingle immediately afterward with drinks and snacks in the same location, and then enjoy a delicious dinner.

Dessert and other festivities under the full moon will follow.

Sunday, February 28, 2010:

For those of you returning home on Sunday, if you have time to say goodbye before catching your water taxi, please do. NEW! . For you early risers, we are doing our best to arrange a yoga class (our treat, of course!) on Sunday morning from 7:15 to 9:00 a.m.--we'll let you know when you arrive if that's been confirmed. And for anyone staying longer in Yelapa (highly recommended!), we'll be there until the following day (Monday, March 1), and we'd love to spend more time with you.
